About this role

Boulder Care is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to join the engineering team. You will have the opportunity to make an impact on the direction of the application as well as help shape the team culture.


Success in this role

  • You will work closely with the team in building out features across our platform, including mobile apps (React Native) a web app (React) and the backend layer (NodeJS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, GraphQL)
  • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance issues
  • Your code maintenance and the automated tests that you write ensure high product quality and increase confidence
  • You will help decide when to leverage existing libraries and frameworks and when to build our own solution
  • Collaborate with your team to ensure there is a culture of sharing knowledge and continuous learning 
  • You are able to balance quality and velocity in a highly iterative environment 


Requirements for the role

  • 1-3 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent technical knowledge 
  • Firm grasp of the JavaScript language including ES6+ syntax
  • You have written and deployed code across the entire stack; from the api layer to the front-end
  • Your code is clean and well-documented
  • Experience with automated testing suites (we use Jest and Cypress)
  • You are able to participate in and directly contribute to discussions that will shape the team’s process


Nice to have but not required

  • Experience working in a early stage, startup environment
  • Experience in IOS or Android native development
  • Experience with GraphQL APIs and server side coding
  • Familiarity with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, NodeJS, and NestJS
  • Experience with security in the healthcare space, specifically around HIPAA compliance
